Refined Team Building Activity Mug for Kids & Adults

The Team Mug is a specially designed mug that comes in two halves, each with its own handle. The objective is for players to work together to transfer as much liquid as possible from one container to another using this unique mug.

The gameplay involves having pairs of players dip the mug into a large bucket filled with water and then race to pour the contents into a second bucket. This makes for a perfect new field day activity, suitable for tailgate fun with adult beverages as well. The mug is made from durable ABS plastic and measures approximately 4.7 inches wide by over 8 inches high.

To set up the game, you'll need one Team Mug per team (or have the teams compete sequentially using just one mug), two large containers, and a predetermined time limit. One container will hold the water reservoir and should be wide enough at the top to allow players to dip their half of the mug. A 15 to 20 gallon tub works best. The second container is where the players will dump the water from the mug, and a 5-gallon bucket with graduated markings is ideal for this.

To play, the teams line up with one player from each pair in each line. At the start signal, the first pair takes hold of the mug, one player on each side, and works together to fill it with water from the reservoir. They then raise the mug out of the water and decide whether to carry it to the second container to dump the contents. If they determine there is not enough water to bother, they can simply pass the mug to the next pair in line.

The teams can choose to try to match up the two halves of the mug before or after dipping it in the water, each method having its own advantages and disadvantages. Once a pair has taken a step, they are committed to their turn.

The game can be played in various modes to increase the challenge. In "Half Blind Water Transport," one player in each pair wears a blindfold, while in "Blind Water Transport," all players except one per team are blindfolded, with the sighted player acting as a coach.

For indoor play, the water can be replaced with lightweight objects like ping pong balls or packing peanuts to avoid making a mess on the floor.

The team with the most water (or objects) in the second container at the end of the allotted time wins the game. This family-friendly activity encourages teamwork, communication, and a healthy dose of friendly competition.
